[Laser] Laser QSOs.

Hello Group.

Happy to report two laser QSOs yesterday 5/5/03

1) G8LSD/P to F/G0MRF/P.   
>From sites nr Dover and Calais this QSO with 3mW and 10mW 660nm lasers is the 
first across the English channel between England and France.

2) Also on the UK side with his own laser transmitter / receiver - Derek, 
G3GRO/P, also made a QSO across the 34km / 22 mile sea path.

This was the third attempt at this QSO. Previous attempts failed due to sea 
mist and fog. A few extra details including measurements of beam diameter for 
the various systems and a photo are included on my laser page.
