This is the kind of thing I was talking about with non-imaging optics....

I can't find it on the AMASCI site...but there are lots of nooks and crannies 
to explore there.  If someone finds that particular site, please pass the URL 
on.

It seems to me that cones, while easy, are less than ideal as they 
supposedlly tend to make a line of light.  Wouldn't  a trumpet do better - 
albeit at the cost of more work?
