Jim - Boy, you didn't waste any time putting up the magazine articles. I
believe there is one more issue that I don't happen to have on my computer
here at work & will get that to you soon. That article covers the original
LED version. I should make an article showing the mods which added Laser
pointer capability and micrometer pointing adjustment for longer distance
contacts. The receiver didn't change.
I recently purchased a few surplus Dichroic filter plates (maybe 3X5")
which appear to work well with my 650 nm laser pointers. I found I'm not
much good at cutting glass but have been able to roughly cut a good number
of maybe 1/2" squares. I'm willing to pass these out to serious
experimenters that have some form of working optical tranceivers with laser
pointers as I know I had a tough time getting a hold of my first filters
to play with.
