Ken - We're probably too far away down here is San Diego to do you much
good but we do have several Hams active here with laser communications.  If
you haven't already done so, you might try contacting the 50 MHz and up
group in the SF Bay area. They may well have some members active in laser
coms as well. I can provide you a contact for that group if it's of
interest.  I'll be more than happy to send you info on the construction of
what we built here. We have been doing 15 mile demos of full duplex voice,
digital and slow scan tv using laser pointers & they'll do a lot further.
It's really amazing what these little devices will do when combined with
some simple optics.
