For info I 've found that CD lazer Diode rectangilar flat lens is stuck on
and usually comes away with screwdriver and local heating of glue with
soldering iron..

I've been working on creating K3PGP's night laser receiver and power
supply/modulator here so I could start playing with some of the laser
diodes I have laying around finally.  Let me just say, wow that receiver
is sensitive! I could hear the 60Hz hum of the lamp that was on behind me
while I was testing it.  Just plugged my computer speakers into it as they
have an amp built in plus volume control.  Reflections of the CD laser diode
I had plugged into the ps/mod. circuit off of my hand would make the
receiver
go full quieting!  Disappointed about the CD ld though as its output is in
a slot configuration so the beam spreads super quick.  Is that just a lens
in front of the ld that does that or the make up of the ld itself?  If it is
just a lens then I can work on trying to get it pulled off.  Anyone near
EM47ss up for experimenting?
