[Laser] Trying to identify fiber optic transmitter components

I happened to spot a bag containing 24  of what I suspect are   Honeywell
fiber optic transmitter devices at the local surplus store & picked up of
them for $4 total. Unfortunately the device number HFE 4821-025 doesn't
match anything on the Honeywell site.  I suspect from looking at the site
that these are 850 nm LEDs mounted in a fiber optic comnector designed for
about  100 MHz frequency response .  Does anyone happen to know these
devices?  I suspect they're low power & not of great use but may be usefull
as sources for alignment & shorter range experiments.
