I have experimented with several cheap magnifying mirrors at IR freqs.
None of them were as good as a surplus 4" lens I picked up at a ham
fest. But my wife has a magnifying mirror that is excellent. I didn't
understand why she was so protective of it until she told me what it
cost. $59.95! And that was maybe 10 years ago. It was made by Magic
Focus, Inc.
