I always thought the HA-350 receiver worked well?
My station in 1970 was a HA-350 and Johnson Navigator.

Subject: [Lafayette] Lafayette prices.
Hi to all! As a long time collector of Lafayette radios, I am quite
perplexed at the outrageous pricing of some of the different models.
For example:
My first 'good' receiver as a young Novice back in the dinosaur days, was an
HE-80. I now have several of those and also a HA-225. They appear to be
plentiful and inexpensive. The one radio I need to 'finish' my collection of
Lafayette / Trio radios, is an HE-10. I KNOW they must have sold these by
the truckload and although it's not a Racal or WJ, the selling price is
insane, and heavily bid.
I am referring to eBay of course, where I get all my stuff. (living in the
wilds of North Florida, I have no choice)
I also have NO desire to collect the Hallicrafters S-120 clones. I had one
of those and it still makes my stomach turn, 40 years later!!! ha ha
Even the 'kit' version of the HE-10 (KT-200), go for a LOT. Osterman lists
the HE-10 as "scarce". If you see a really clean version of these old girls,
the pricing is just plain silly.
Perhaps they are more 'scarce' than I thought????
Funny thing, Osterman says, "the HE-10 was styled after the Hallicrafters
S-38 but is a superior radio". That is kinda funny........
tnx
