Trio made radios for Lafayette and a couple for Allied (like the A-2515). As you state, they 'morphed' into Kenwood. Remember the transision from Datsun to Nissan???? Same thing.

What I was trying to convey is that some of these older low-end radios work quite well and have some nice construction.
