[Lafayette] HE-45 info wanted

In the Lafayette HE-45 series of transcievers, would someone be able to
describe the differences between the HE-45, HE-45a, and HE-45b? Also, on the
matching VFO, there is the HE-61 and HE-61a. Any significant differences?
Also, did the HE-50 (the 10 meter version) have the same model variations?
Also, somewhere, I heard these US built units were actually made by Regency.
Can someone confirm?

For some odd reason, I am obsessed with these particular units.--Mike.
