[KYHAM] Introduction To Amateur Radio Class Begins Jan. 26,2006

       The University of Kentucky Amateur Radio Cub and the Bluegrass 
Amateur Radio Society will be holding amateur radio license
classes on Thursday nights from 7 to 9 PM in room CP-163 of the Chemistry 
Physics Building on Rose Street. These classes will begin Thursday January 
26, 2006.  The first half of the class will be Radio Theory, operating 
procedures, and FCC rules and regulations; the second hour will be Morse 
Code.  The material presented will be for the entry level Technician 
License (No Morse Code required) and Morse Code, which is required to 
upgrade to any of the higher class licenses.The class is free, but there is 
a reference book "Now You're Talking" that each student will need that cost 
about $20 including shipping. Books will be available to young students 
thru the 12th grade at no cost.
