For those of you who may not have heard, it's with deep regret I report the 
passing on Friday, June 24, 2005, of Lt. Col. (Ret.) Bryon G. "Colonel 
Giff" Gifford, WA4YPQ of Vine Grove, Ky.

Colonel Giff was a morning regular on 3960 kHz. His friendly, cheerful 
voice served as NCS for many a net on that frequency over the years. I had 
the pleasure of meeting him on his yearly visits to the Cave City hamfest. 
He was a true gentlemen who always had something interesting to contribute 
to a conversation.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret H. Gifford; and a daughter, 
Luanne Gifford. Survivors include his daughter, Sue G. Allen of Honeoye, 
N.Y.; and two grandsons, Glenn Allen of Radcliff and Bruce Allen of Vine Grove.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 29th at Jehovah's 
Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Radcliff with Thomas Smith officiating.
