Check to see if the battery is good, then
check to see if the radio will turn on when powered by the external power
jack.
If the battery is good, and the radio WILL turn on from the power jack,
there may be a diode between the battery pack and the radio that burned
out.  That diode burned out in my dual-band ADI HT.
