[KYHAM] Strange Planes

Larry and others,

The picture of the jet with the unusual-looking disc attached to the tail
is a research plane used to spray water for in-flight icing tests. The
rest of the photos are DOCTORED propaganda by what appears to be a college
drop-out meteorology wanna-be. After more than 25 years in aviation and
only 25 minutes or so on a farm I tell you that, in my professional
opinion, that guy is full of bull#*^%. Yes, fuels are color-coded to
ensure correct fuels are dispensed into an aircraft. The fuel dyes are
formulated so that if two different dyes (fuels) are mixed, they turn
almost as clear as water. Jet fuel is a straw colored fuel. And yes, in
the late 90's there were several instances of contaminated fuel and oil
products in the aviation market.

Folks, you can refrigerate it, blend it, freeze it, or even spray paint it
white or another color...I still would not eat it! Be careful what you see
and believe from the internet.
