[KYHAM] Spring Cleaning...

When Spring comes, we usually go through things and rearrange, change or
generally give stuff a good cleaning from the winter.
As a suggestion, all EC's and DEC's need to be looking over their roll
of membership, getting updates on member contact and availability info
and cleaning out the ones on the roll who said they would and yet never
did.
I report a section ARES membership figure each month, but in truth, I
have no idea myself who any of these people are except for the
appointees in leadership positions. http://www.kyham.net/county.html
Aside from those listed on these pages, local ARES rolls have
traditionally stayed LOCAL.
With the cooperation of everyone, I'd like to change that this summer.
Once your local membership rosters are updated for 2005, please give me
a copy. It can be in Word, Excel or whatever works for you. I will not
release this info except on a need to know basis. If I can report a
total of 1,093 members I need to know it is not really only 547 because
everyone is on two rosters!
Likewise, I ask that we check our info (both contact info and net info)
on the KyHam site and give kd4pwl at insightbb any errors and the correct
info so he can update with the most accurate info possible for anyone
seeking it. Far too often EC's and DEC's will change e-mail addresses
or other info and fail to tell Pat or myself. When we try to contact
them for something, it bounces. Not good!
Lastly, I ask that anyone in a leadership role (or anyone who may find
themselves in one) take the IS-700 Home Study Course
http://training.fema.gov/EMIWeb/IS/is700.asp this summer sometime if you
already have not. By October 1, 2005, ALL served agencies will have to
have their personnel do this (Failure to do so will endanger their grant
funding for the future at state and federal levels!!!) and I see no
reason why we should not also. Please advise Pat or myself when you
have your certificate of completion.
