Note, also, that your equipment will need to be equipped with (or adapted
to) the American style power plugs:

The three pin version is common in newer buildings (approximately 40 
years or less in age), although some older buildings may use the two pin 
version (The third pin is a safety ground.).

It's difficult to find the plug adapter kits locally, so if you don't have a set,
you might search some of the shops at an airport (although these will
typically be more expensive than mail ordered ones).
