COMMENTS:
WINLINK development continued through the month in Owensboro,
Louisville, Northern Ky, Fayette County and Madison County.
Testing planned during SET Oct. 2-3.
SEC attended KENA/KEMA/APCO conference Sept. 7-9 in Lexington, Ky.
Area Events:
Area 1: KC6GNV reports that KC4ENA, Freddie Nichols participated
in a tabletop exercise with county officials on 9/29.
Area 7: WD8JAW reports that KD7ARET "KY7ET" activated 9/16 in
anticipantion of deployment due to expected heavy rains in
Eastern Kentucky from Hurricane IVAN . As it turned out, Ivan
changed direction and net was told to stand down PM 9/17/04
Area 12: KT3K reports that all the police radios, Amatuer Radios,
scanners, power supplies, cabling and antennas now in the Casey
County Mobile Command Post,
Area 13: KQ4ZZ reports, 6 hams supported 200 participants through
Univ of Kentucky Triathalon for Eyesight's
swim/bike/run triathalon. Hams positioned along course to provide
coordination, position reporting and possible emergency comms.
