Louisville Hamfest Announces Banquet, Reduces Flea Market Rates

In an exciting move by the Greater Louisville Hamfest Association, the price
of flea market space has been reduced to a mere five dollars. This decision,
made by the committee at their March meeting, went public today on the
Greater Louisville Hamfest website at http://www.qsl.net/glha.

With the move to Paroquet Springs Conference Centre, the committee wants to
make this year's hamfest a record success. This tremendous reduction in flea
market spaces, half of last year's $10 cost and now including a table free
(previously $6), is due to the setup at the new facility. Paroquet Springs
provides the tables, so the savings can be passed along. The additional
reduction is to celebrate the new look of the hamfest and to encourage
participants to be part of the show inside the air-conditioned Convention
Centre. Commercial rates will remain at $20 per space and limited tailgating
space is still available, also at $5.

Additionally the Greater Louisville Hamfest Banquet has been announced. The
banquet is on Friday, September 10, 2004 beginning at 7PM. It will be
catered by Paroquet Springs. The cost is $20 per person, including tax and
gratuities. The meal will be Chicken Marsala and includes vegetables, rolls,
drinks and dessert. Advance reservations for the banquet are required and
must be received before August 28, 2004.

The entertainment portion of the banquet will be hosted by Gary Clark, KU4EN
of 103.1 WRKA's team, Jeff and Gary in the Morning. Scheduled entertainment
includes the legendary Wouff Hong of amateur radio. Additional entertainment
will be announced later.
