[KYHAM] KEN Referenced Material for March 2004

The first Monday of each month KEN opens the floor for net 
participants to tell of interesting magazine article, books or 
web sites that may be useful to others.  For the March 1, net the 
following was referenced:

N4VDJ offered up the two March 2004, QST articles:

The Amateur Storm Chaser- by Seth Price, N3MRA found on page 49
which addressed the use of APRS in locating stations in the field 
during spotter deployments.

The OP-ED, piece for the month on page 94; Reconstructing the 
Packet Network by John Clifford, KD4KGX which discusses the 
possible use of 9600 baud to give new life to Packet radio as an 
emergency communications medium.

A short side bar discussion also came to life regarding any 
possible interest on the part of Ky amateurs to create a PSK-31 
equivalent to the Ky Emergency Net for HF digital emergency 
communications support. What say folks, any takers on this one???
