Tonight's (May 28, 2004) KEN is our monthly KyARES Section Meeting
On-the-Air, 7:30 PM EDT / 6:30 PM CDT on 3.993.5 MHz.

Next week, unless there is a need to activate for an official activity,
there will be no KEN Net on the evening of July 5. KEN will resume on
the 12th with our training topic of the month; "ARES: America's
Minutemen (and Women)".
-----------------------------------------
The next week is an important time for our nation as we prepare to
celebrate the birth of our country 228 yrs ago. While this is a good
time for America and her citizens, it is also a dangerous time in the
scheme of world events.

For those who have not been listening to the news today, power was
turned over this morning (two days early) to the Iraqi government. This
will likely mean a good deal MORE turmoil for them and possibly US.
Terrorists have, in the past, sometimes used national holidays to launch
attacks against whomever they were trying to influence. With this in
mind, I urge vigilance and preparedness as we enter the coming days.
Please stay alert for news of anything that may occur. Keep your gear
ready and review your plans for possible activations should they be
needed. At this time the terror alert level remains at YELLOW. and no
intelligence has been discussed that brings forth any indications this
may change in the immediate future. Should there be a need to activate,
KEN will function on or near 3.993.5 during evening hours and 7.228
during daytime hours. Bear in mind that band activity and other nets
MAY cause a shift off the center frequency.
