As was learned in last year's ice storm, should power go out or 
phones go down it may be hours or days before service is 
restored.  Check your equipment, supplies of batteries for 
flashlights etc. and extra stocks of food and water NOW. Also 
make sure that your vehicle has plenty of fuel.  If power is out 
many businesses will not be open as their computer operated 
checkouts will be down and gas pumps will not function until the 
power is back on.

Should you need to go out, use extreme caution as walkways and 
roadways will be hazardous until the ice melts.

Should conditions require; Monitor local frequencies for nets or 
  emergency traffic. KEN may be in either a stand by or 
activation status on 7.228 in daytime hours and 3.888 MHz. in the 
hours from dusk until day as needed or if needed.
