I have heard this same really silly claim made repeatedly.

But, guess what...

C W    I S    S T I L L    S E N T    O N E    L E T T E R    A T    A
TIME    T O    S P E L L   O U T    W O R D S    A N D    T H O S E    W
O R D S    A R E    S T I L L    I N    S O M E    L A N G U A G E.

Unless you are willing to have a QSO entirely made up of Q-Signals,
Prosigns, and Callsigns, CW does absolutely nothing to work arround
language barriers.

achieves this in two ways. It gets around language dialect and cultral
barriers.
