COMMENTS:
SECTION NEWS:
A revised and updated MOU between KyEM and Ky ARES is under
review in Frankfort at this time.
A KyEM earthquake exercise is being planned for Western Ky to be
held in March. Amateur radio will have a role to play! More as
this develops.
District 3:
For the first time in many years we have a DEC in Area 3.
Welcome to Jack, K4SAC.
District 12:
John, KT3K new EC in Casey County has begun planning with local
EMA on developing a mobile operations ceneter and improving EOC
EMCOMM for the county.
District 13:
Seven ARES members from Woodford Co. have joined the Woodford
County Community Emergency Response Team and attended 2 three
hour training classes on Disaster Preparation and Fire Safety in
January.

21 Fayette County ARES Members attended a class at the University
of KY Hospital on 1/31. The subject of a class was Landing Zone
(LZ) training to assist with landing medical helicopters in
disasters, or in chance circumstances where they are on an
accident scene, and the EMS cannot communicate to the helicopters.
Not a bad start to a NEW YEAR! Thanks to all.
