For those of you who may have known Ed White/KD4TQ, please be aware that
he passed away Friday, September
26, 2003. Visitation is during the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 PM today
(Sunday) at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on
Harrodsburg Road in Lexington. Information about the funeral and Ed's
life may be obtained from the obit published
in Sunday's Herald-Leader newspaper.
Ed was very active in the Bluegrass Amateur Radio Society, Lexington,
having served as President and in a
number of other official positions. During his presidency, he, with Nan
Muth/AA4UN and Bill DeVore/N4DIT,
established the state of Kentucky's first formal license testing group
under the then-infant Volunteer
Examiners program. This was done by establishing and making the Volunteer
Examinations Committee a
permanent part of the Club's administrative structure.
Ed was really a great guy and he will be missed by all who had the
privilege of knowing and associating
with him. The Bluegrass Amateur Radio Society extends our utmost sympathy
to Ed's wife Betty and his
sons Wayne and Tony.
Bill DeVore/N4DIT
