COMMENTS:

Severe weather, while not as extreme as last year, sure made
a number of appearances in April giving us 9 spotter
activations in the section.

Hancock County of Area 3 is working hard to establish a
local ARES program and has found local EMA Director Inman
very receptive and helpful.

The BIG public service event this month was the annual Rolex
in Lexington on April 26 and 27. Amateur radio operators
helped coordinate and conduct handicapped and spectator
shuttles at the 4 star equestrian event attended by tens of
thousands of people each year at the Kentucky Horse Park.
525 man hours of amateur radio assistance were provided for
this event.
