[KYHAM] March 11, Ky Severe Weather Drill

Again, a reminder that the Ky Severe Weather Alert Drill is
set for this coming Tuesday, March 11, 2002.  If severe
weather were forecast to be occurring for real, this would
possibly and quite likely be postponed!

I bring this up in light of the problem which occurred
earlier this week when Indiana conducted their drill. 
Though advance notice was given regarding this drill and it
was braodcast as a drill, when the test alert was sounded
some braodcast media picked it up and issued warnings under
the false impression that it was real! Let's not let
ourselves become alarmed if something of this order were to
occur here.  Monitor the broadcast, get the information sent
and act accordingly.  Should a real severe weather event
happen, let's be sure we know the difference.
