Since 1999, Kentucky Amateur Radio Emergency Service has
recognized the exemplary service, and achievements of an
individual
ARES member who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to
provide amateur radio service in time of community disaster,
and/or
strengthen the organization that serves their community.
ANY ARES member who has not previously won the award is eligible
for the award. To be considered for the award, the operator must
be
nominated by another amateur operator. Previous winners of the
award
are (1999) Ronald Ritchie, N4MOM, (2000) Scott County ARES group,
(2001) Fred Jones, WA4SWF, and (2002) Ronald Nutter, KA4KYI.
The form below is provided for you nominate the deserving ham
operator. This nomination is forwarded to Ron Dodson, KA4MAP, the
Kentucky Section Emergency Coordinator. Ron, along with ASEC Ron
Goodpaster and Pat Spencer, KD4PWL.
Your nomination must be received by July 7, 2003. This page will
go offline after that
date.
Please pass the word on your local nets. If there are members who
would like to nominate someone that do not have Internet access,
help
them by filling out the form for them, or ask them to contact Ron
Dodson
at 270-496-4654.
Some of the things you need to consider before nominating someone
for
the award are their level of participation, efforts to improve
the strength
of the ARES organization in their area, their conduct in
emergency
operations, and their overall dedication to public service.
The award reciepiant will be duly recognized for their tireless
dedication,
and committment in a public setting, on KEN, newsletters, and
over the KyHam web site.
