Winter weather advisory for this afternoon through early
Friday morning, The NWS has issued a
winter weather advisory for north central Kentucky and east
central Kentucky for today and
this evening. Some cities included in the advisory are
Louisville, Leitchfield, Elizabethtown,
Frankfort and Lexington. An area of rain will move north
from tennessee this morning. With
temperatures below freezing the rain will begin as a period
of freezing rain. This afternoon
as temperatures rise most of the precipitation will change
over to rain. However some areas
could still see freezing rain into the afternoon. Tonight
cooler air will spread over the area
with the rain changing to snow. Accumulations of 1 to 2
inches are possible before the snow
diminishing after midnight. Stay tuned to noaa weather
