Issued at: 11:04 AM EST 2/6/03, expires at: 4:00 PM EST
2/6/03
Snow advisory for late this afternoon through this evening.
A area of low pressure will move
into kentucky and indiana this afternoon. Light snow will
develop late this afternoon across
all of north and east central kentucky, and south central
indiana. Periods of light snow will
continue through late evening, before tapering off to
scattered flurries. Most of the
accumulating snow will occur after dark, with total snow
accumulations of 1 to 2 inches by
midnight. The expected snow accumulations will make driving
conditions hazardous from late
this afternoon and into the evening across north and east
central kentucky, and south central
indiana. People with travel plans should allow some extra
travel time, and exercise extreme
caution on slippery road surfaces. A snow advisory is issued
when light snow is expected to
develop, but only enough to cause minor inconveniences such
as travel delays. No severe winter
weather is expected at this time.
