[KYHAM] Unusual Request Received from Citizen To Keep an Eye out for Stolen Vehicle!

Everyone,
This request for assistance is perhaps the most unusual I have received for 
amateur radio assistance. However, it comes from a non-ham who is seeking 
our help because we as a group have many sets of eyes. Please be advised, 
as this is a law enforcement issue, the only action you should take if you 
observe this vehicle is to report it to your local police. DO NOT try to 
intervene and place yourself in danger. I will have the tag number shortly.

I gave a lot of thought about releasing this information over KYHAM.  It 
was a very awkward decision as it really doesn't involve amateur radio 
itself.  However, it was an honest request from a non-ham who thought 
enough of us as a group of people who help serve the community to ask for 
our help.  Sure it is a gray area, but we need to be sensitive to the faith 
people have in hams.  I felt if I didn't say something, it would not be 
"the right thing." As moderator of this forum, I will entertain any private 
comments to this post.
