ALL Net Control Stations!!! Be sure that the announcement is
made regularly that this is ONLY An EXERCISE!
To be sure we properly evaluate ALL aspects covered in the
objectives, I ask that the following be used as a
template/checklist when reporting your info to me and for
use in the final report to the NWS staffers and state
emergency management in the aftermath of our upcoming SET.
1. Time net activated:
2. Frequency(s) used for the net:
3. If net was held on a repeater or linked repeater system,
was/were the repeater(s) supported with an emergency power
back up in case the AC had failed during your net?
If yes, what type (battery or generator) and capacity (amp
hours or kilowatts):
4. If formal WRITTEN message traffic was passed during the
net, list number:
5. Time net closed:
6. MOST IMPORTANTLY! .* NCS's, be sure and get AC /
Emergency Power info, each station's location and county
info from ALL check ins (Don't forget to include yourself!).
Submit to me (via e-mail) a complete Net Roster reflecting
this. (Though it makes a little extra work for you to send
me this, it will serve three purposes; 1) I will be able to
'dupe' the check ins as some will check into more than one
net, thus letting us really see HOW MANY REALLY
PARTICIPATED, 2) What areas had representation and what
areas did not and lastly, 3) Stations using commercial power
and those free of conventional AC power who would remain on
the air if utilities failed.) I realize that this does make
a little more work than usual, but just remember, I'm the
guy who gets to check all rosters state-wide for duplicate
check ins and info. ;^) In the end, it will be worth the
extra effort. 73
