So many people from across the state have inquired with me in the past 24
hours, I thought I would do this publicly and as briefly as
possible: Please feel free to distribute this information to any of your
groups. Sources are cited so you can decide for yourself. This is simply
a relay of information, and not an analysis. For a good collection of
links to authoritative weather information visit

Be aware that we may have a severe weather scenario in the coming couple of
days.

Hurricane Lili is a VERY fast moving storm that will make landfall at 13:00
Thursday halfway between New Orleans and the LA/TX border on the Gulf
Coast. It is currently a category 4 hurricane, and is projected to
possibly become a category 5 before reaching land tomorrow. By 13:00
Friday, the center of Lili is projected to be in the KY-TN-MO border
area. Then by 13:00 Saturday it is projected to be at the Canadian border.

Depending on where you are in Kentucky, you have a 10-49% chance of the
center of Lili passing overhead. The greatest area of risk is in an area
from Cincinnati through Bowling Green to the Mississippi River.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A slight risk of severe weather exists in nearly all of Kentucky for
Friday. This is currently on the 3 day convective outlook, which is the
farthest out they project. Watch this page over the next couple of days as
this risk may increase.
