I'm somewhat familiar with the PD526's, the number you gave doesn't add =
up to what I've seen over the years. Typical model numbers are =
PD526-WB-SR-1, PD526-4-2, PD526-4-SR-2 and so forth. If you can verify =
the model number and e-mail direct I'll help as I can. Some models have =
odd spacing to them, the spacing pretty much can't be changed either, =
probably the only downside to them. Thus the need for the exact =
part/model number of the ones you're working with. SR is usually rack =
mount, WB means some unique frequency spacing (generally) and the others =
help determine band segment. Pray it's not a PD526-5-whatnot (typically =
designed for use above 470 MHz).
Phelps Dodge made that series originally, hard to find doc's on them, =
Celwave RFS makes them now (the PD526 series). Certain models of them =
are famous for excellent selectivity, good temp compensation, and low =
insertion loss. Some offer over 100db of isolation and only around 1dB =
insertion loss along with the ability to handle high power. I've seen =
them tune up considerably better than specifications. Many regard them =
as some of the finest duplexers ever made. Oldies but goodies. 6 cans =
are typically superior to the 4 can duplexers. The model I have goes =
for well into the 4 digit price range new and usually command a big =
price on the used market if you can even find one in good shape.
I've got the Phelps Dodge equivalent of the Celwave PD526-4-2 on our =
Burlington KY 443.5250+ repeater up this way. My set is real old and =
works great other than I've got to find a replacement cable harness kit =
for it. Isolated duplex noise on weak signals to the harness, usually =
not too bad but intermittently it will pretty much makes the receiver =
deaf. Cable harness failure is probably the only known issue with these =
duplexers. I've got an e-mail into Celwave trying to get a price on a =
harness right now myself. You might try the same and see where that =
leads to.
Let me know if I can be of any help. Trying to get my own fixed up also =
:-) Feel free to drop me a note direct.
