[KYHAM] ONE HOUR A WEEK!!!

Hello All,

A suggestion to all list members.
If EVERY AMATEUR WOULD SPEND ONE HOUR A WEEK either handeling traffic,
calling a net, doing training in your area, or helping with public service
events contacting local officials to find out service needs etc. we could
acccomplish much more than we do at this time.  Don't like the traffic you
hear!!! then generate traffic of your own to hams you know.  While noone
enjoys spam trafic, the only way we have meaningful traffic is if YOU THE
LOCAL HAM send it yourself.

If you got your license just to talk and do your own selfish thing, then
don't cry when the government sells the frequencies to commercial interests
to raise bucks for the treasury.  Their is a time to talk and a time to
help.  If you value the hobby of amateur radio as I do then you are needed
to do your part.  Participate in some way somewhere to make the hobby better
by helping another ham or being part of the national traffic system, or
helping with emergency preparedness, or in some way making the hobby better
for all.
If we all do our part,  the hobby, the community, the nation and you will
all be better for it.  If you doubt this, try it for 60 days and let me know
why it doesn't work.  We generally spend at least one hour a week in church,
about 56 hours a week sleeping, 40 hours a week working and so on.  One hour
a week really isn't much when you consider that even after donating the one
hour and all the other things I mentioned you still have 70 hours left.
