COMMENTS:
Though ARES nets have slowed down in Manhours,
groundwork has started to show a great deal of activity
off the air.
AREA 1, KC6GNV reports that they are continuing to work
with local officials regarding the community warning
sirens and are starting a relationship with local ARC
officials.
AREA 7, New Kenton County EC KG4PRL has hit the ground
running. Not only did he complete Level II of the ARRL
ECC, but he also managed to interface with several
county officials and SKYWARN folks in his area. Good
Show Kevin!
NB4K reports that they have had 3, Area 7 amateurs
complete the ARRL ECC curriculum and are now
instructors as well.
Area 9, WA4SWF reports that 20 members of The Big Sandy
Amateur Radio Club took the "Weapons of Mass
Destruction Class" in Feb.
AREA 13 reports show that work is continuing there in
continued strengthening of support of local amateurs to
local response agencies.
The Annual Ky Severe Storms Preparedness Drill with NWS
and KyEM is scheduled for sometime March 26. Local nets
and Ky Emergency Net will be again supporting this
critical exercise.
