I realize you all probably know this already, but I wanted to make sure.
This came from the ARRL web site.
General Communications Emergency Declaration (Jun 24, 2002) -- Under the
authority of Section 97.401 of the Federal Communications Commission's Rules
and Regulations [47 C.F.R. Part 97] a General Communications Emergency is
declared to exist in Arizona requiring the protection of amateur emergency
communication frequencies.
Amateurs are required to refrain from using 7265 kHz (daytime), and 3990 kHz
(night time) plus or minus 3 kHz unless they are taking part in the handling
of emergency traffic. This order is effective immediately until rescinded
but may be as long as 14 days.
Arlan K Van Doorn, Senior Advisor for Public Safety Enforcement Bureau,
Federal Communications Commission, Washington, DC.
W1AW will discontinue its 3990 kHz phone bulletin, transmitted daily at
0145z, until the declaration is rescinded.
