On the evening of Thursday, June 13, Bill Fuqua/WA4LAV, Vice
President of the Bluegrass Amateur Radio Society, accepted a
proclamation that designates June 22, 2002, Amateur Radio Day
in Lexington, Fayette County. The proclamation was made and
granted by Mayor Pam Miller.

Many thanks to Bill, who accepted the certificate from the Mayor
and gave a brief acknowledgement of the more than 700 Amateur
Operators in Fayette County, and thanks to the Hams who attended
the ceremony representing the Bluegrass club and the local ARES
groups.

A special thanks also to Darryl Bennett/KD4CSW who made the
request to the Mayor, and who furnished the mayor with the
supporting information she needed to consider the proclamation.

I have attached a copy of the certificate that the Mayor presented
to us. Note that the copy is in .pdf format and requires Adobe Acrobat
to be read.

73, de Bill DeVore/N4DIT
Secretary, Bluegrass ARS
