It may be wise to get a custom made insert for a hand held battery pack in
order to rebuild it.  The commercial way is to use a low energy spot welder
to weld a stainless strap between the cells wired plus to minus in a series.
A capacitive discharge spot welder would be possible to home brew.  In the
instrumentation industry, we use small special spot welders to attach strain
gages pre mounted on 0.005-inch stainless shim stock to thick steel
structures.  The maximum energy is only 50 joules or watt-seconds.

Soldering cells is generally difficult and can damage the cells.  I don't
know of any hams that are set up to spot weld the cells straps, but someone
may read this and give you some hints.

I have just bought some replacement batteries for a battery pack thing is I
don't know how to put them in order and which to go + + or - + or +- or - -
lol and what kind of solder do I need to get it to stick properly any help
would be greatly greatly appreciated
