Ladies and Gents,
I just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone who has made KYHAM and
the KY Amateur Radio Web Site a success over the past year. The year is
not yet over, but we will be approaching 900 messages on KYHAM by year
end. Each one of these messages has had something to say about amateur
radio, or amateur radio in Kentucky. I hope that it has served as a useful
pathway. The web site is getting more hits, and keeps expanding with more
content.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite those of you who have been
"copying the mail," as it were, and not saying anything on the listserv to
speak up in the coming year, and let us know what is going on in your
area. 90% of the posts on KYHAM are broadcasts of information, and there
are not a lot of conversations. So, don't be surprised if you don't get a
reply to an announcement. But, don't be surprised if the information
doesn't show up in some newsletters, on web pages, or in an amateur radio
publication here and there. So if you have something going on, please
share it with everyone.
Earlier this year, I received a lot of attention for the hard work of
others. I want to thank all of you who have submitted news, info and ideas
for the site over the past year. You made me look good. Let's resolve to
continue the growth of the site, and keep the news and info coming. If you
have never submitted anything to site, but have wanted to...let me
know. It is an easy process, and you and your group will get the attention
you deserve for your activities.
Let's make another sweep through the site and make sure that everything is
correct on the local pages. Start at http://www.qsl.net/kd4pwl/county.html
and check the information for your locality. Please also go to the Library
Page and look at the KY Weather Net Repeaters text file.
Also, for those who publish information on amateur radio in newsletters,
and publications please review the information submitted to the site after
the first of the year and see what has changed and see if you have the
latest info.
Again, thanks to all of you who have made the site a success. I am just a
simple editor and FTP uploader.

73, Be Safe this Holiday
