I want to come clean and then agree with Paul N4DUE.
Not long ago I listened at three hams talking. They
were trying to understand the ALERT color codes and
how they might impact ham radio operations. It was
apparent from the QSO that at least one of them didn't
know the color system, much less the reasons for it.
He had Red, orange, Amber, yellow, green, blue and purple.
I emailed Ron and asked him if it might be worthwhile
to put the ALERT System into some kind of ham training.
If there is a "paranoia rap" in all this then the
blame for it is mine. I'm Joe Taylor, N4NAS Glasgow, KY.
For those of you who may live in larger cities or urban
areas with lots of hams and lots of training I concede
that you get more information as you have greater numbers
in higher concentrations. All this may, for you, be old
news, but in more rural areas it needs repeating. Please
don't badger Ron for answering my request for the info.
Heck down here we still have elder hams that are fighting
No-Code licenses <smile>.
To Ron. Ron I apologize to you for getting your boots
soiled, but I thank you for the posting/training. From my
standpoint you did exactly what I requested and Southern
Kentucky Hams appreciate it!!
