Levi Bedard, 85, Hays, died Friday, May 20, 2005, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born July 31, 1919, in Damar to M.F. and Armaline (LaBarge) Bedard.
He married O'Della Newell on Nov. 27, 1941, in Damar. He was a retired
insurance representative for Farmland Industries and had officiated football
games for the Kansas State High School Activities Association. He was a
member of the Hays Amateur Radio Club, Hays Twirlers Square Dance Club, St.
Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1325 and the Bishop
Cunningham Fourth Degree Order for the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dick Bedard, Hays; four daughters, Carol
Bedard and Judy Koerner, both of Lee's Summit, Mo., Michelle Beyer, Hays,
and Jeanette Howerton, Aurora, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Dale and Raymond, a
brother, Albert Bedard, and a sister, Stella Roth.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays;
burial at 12:15 p.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery, Damar.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at
Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine.
A Perpetual Adorers service will be at 3:30 p.m., a Daughters of Isabella
rosary at 6 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree service will follow
a parish vigil at 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
Memorials are suggested to Masses, Thomas More Prep-Marian High School or
Capuchins Order of Mid-America in care of the funeral chapel.
