UPDATE: 2004 Skywarn Recognition Day (SRD)

According to Scott Mentzer N0QE, Skywarn Recognition Day founder and
coordinator, there are currently 30 National Weather Service offices
now signed to participate for the December 3rd event (Dec 4 0000 UTC).

Here in the upper Midwest this now includes the Chicago IL, Daven Port
IA, Minneapolis MN, and the La Crosse-Green Bay WI Weather Service
offices.

Nationwide all NWS offices have been sent sign-up procedures and since
SRD is still seven weeks away there is still plenty of time for your
nearest NWS office to sign-up.

A 2004 SRD Certificate is also being developed. One theme on the
certificate will be amateur radio's support during the Florida
hurricanes.

The December edition of "QST" magazine will publicize the event and a
web page at http://hamradio.noaa.gov  provides additional details and
photos. Scott's next SRD update will be early November.
