A few days later, I received a receipt in the mail telling me that the money had been applied to my membership dues thru 2018. I enclosed a note telling Bob to use the money for the upgrades. What gives? I would have sent a copy of this to Bob, but I did not have his email address. I received other checks indicating that they wanted to use part for membership and part for upgrades.? Sorry for the mix-up. ? These are located at EMA on Berkley Road. They share a single new Arcom controller. The 910 is on the air as it was. It requires no PL on the input but does have a PL on the output of 88.5 for those using tone squelch. It is acting quirky and may be due to a bad jumper or something in the duplexer cavities. So expect some possible issues. Sorry. The 70 cm machine is on and working fine. We did however go ahead and put on the new PL tone so your need to program your radio to use a PL of 173.8 on both the input and output if you want to use a tone squelch. By the way, I selected the old school Apollo beep for its courtesy tone so enjoy. All systems will be using the 173.8 PL tone on January 31, 2015. Initially it was announced that we would be using 131.8 tone however with the new PL map drawn up by the Indiana Repeater Council, it put us in northwest Indiana area. Upon review, I found existing repeaters in northwest Indiana on the 240 and 910 repeater frequencies already using the 131.8 PL. So rather than have a problem with duplicate PL tones, we decided to switch to the alternate PL of 173.8 and to use that for all four club owned repeaters. The 240 repeater is here but the amplifier is not. It should be here by mid week. Once the 910 is figured out, I'd guess work will start on the 240 system. Holidays and possible wintry fun next weekend might slow things down. I will also work on updating the repeater club finances soon. Donations and dues are still welcome and needed. Thank you to those who have already donated. 73's Jim Hunt - K9GTJ Sent from my iPad on iOS 7 From K9GTJ at sbcglobal.net Mon Dec 15 21:52:33 2014 From: K9GTJ at sbcglobal.net (K9GTJ) Date: Mon, 15 Dec 2014 21:52:33 -0500 Subject: [KokomoHams] 910 Repeater Update Message-ID: <6B26CB0D-793E-469E-B0F4-AD8AD52FDC5F@sbcglobal.net> Another evening of working on the new 910 repeater by Doug, John, and myself. I'm sure you heard me on the repeater testing and dead keying it. Fun! After time spent tuning the duplexer cavities, we really thought we had it right but the problem persisted. It turns out one of the new cables made yesterday was the issue. Once we replaced it, we couldn't make system fail. The good news is we learned more about the duplexer on the 910. These are home built from a July 1972 QST article. Rather sophisticated to build. For now, let keep our fingers crossed the 910 is working. There are a few finishing tweaks get things completed but for now it seems we found our gremlin. One last thing, we look to have someone here on Saturday to look at all the duplexers for our repeaters. You may find a repeater off the air for a few on Saturday.
