Amateur Radio Technician License
Certification Prep and Exam
Instructor: Carl Davis
The goal of this course is to prepare students to take and pass a Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) examination for an entry-level license.
Upon successful completion, you will be able to participate in a large
number of Amateur Radio activities, including radio communications in
support of public service agencies and homeland security. Persons must be
<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns =
"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />U.S. citizens or legal
resident aliens in order to be licensed. At the conclusion of the class,
students will be given a 35 question multiple choice test by a three person
team of Volunteer Examiners. All students passing the exam will receive a
certificate. The FCC will send licenses to students in the mail.
Place: Ivy Tech Community College, 1701 Touby Pike, Kokomo
Dates: Thursdays, September 8 to December 8 (no class November 24)
Time: 5:30-7 p.m.
Cost: $80 examination fee extra
