Ha! Fooled ya. This was not an automated message from the KL7AA computer
system. I typed it in myself.
Kent has been posting upwards of 95% of the posts on the AARC blog. There
are a number of automatic actions that take place when there is a new post
on the blog. The system automatically posts the new blog entry to Facebook
and I think, Twitter.
For the past couple of years, I thought that it automatically sent out
an announcement on the email list server. Actually, it was Kent, KL5T that
was
sending out those short, precisely worded emails that looked like they were
authored by a bot.
As a former computer geek, I was not surprised when I didn't get an email
when I posted on the blog, because these systems don't always send an email
to the author, because, well, they wrote it. Why send an email to the
person who wrote the email? They already know what's in it. A day after I
put up my post, I got an email from Dave commenting on the post. That
confirmed my theory about not getting an email.
Then I got an email from Kent about a post on the blog. That totally blew
away my previous two theories.
