QST:
The First Friday is almost here and the monthly meeting will be held at the
normal place (APU) at the normal time (7pm). The topics are déjà vu
since
last month the APU IT system was locked out there was no ability to use the
projector. That problem has been solved and so the topics will be the same.

How to best access our repeaters
For those of you interested, the club is looking into a bulk purchase of
Bridgecom 220MHz radios. If you have wanted to work this band, but havent
been able to find a radio built to do so, now is the time. Go take a look
at their website. This is a good band and KL7AA does have an active
repeater on Glen Alps.
Been on HF lately? While it has been a bit fuzzy in the ionosphere, things
calmed down last weekend and the CQ WW RTTY contest showed that good
conditions are still with us. 15 meters was open regularly, 20 was open to
Europe 24 hours a day, and some 10 meter signals were heard. Equinox is a
fine time to work the southern hemisphere on HF. Some DX can be found, an
expedition to Chesterfield Reef starts up tomorrow night, and since there is
only good reflecting salt water between us and them, chances of working that
location is good for Alaskans.
Speaking of contests, that season is here too. CQ WW and ARRL Sweepstakes
are coming up. Great time to test your station, since lots of operators
will be on. Dont be afraid to jump in and work some stations!
