[KL7AA] JBER Club is looking to improve it's deployment capabilities.

After the last Field Day it has become clear we really need to be using
a covered trailer to move the gear to the field.

Not a loaner but one the club owns. I say covered as that provides both
weather protection for the antennas and gear but allows it to double as
secure storage.

The current storage we use is not an area we have entry control over and
there are outside of CAP agencies that need to enter the area. So far we
have not been subject to any losses from this arrangement but that is a
concern.

Stored in a trailer we own means we lock it up and no one else has
access. It also means we can get insurance coverage for the gear.

Remember the club is a shoe string operation so we won't be running out
and buying a trailer. We need about a 14 foot enclosed trailer. Does
not need to be heavy duty as we don't have much in weight, more of a
size issue with the antennas and such. If you have one that's just
sitting in the weeds and is in fair condition the club sure could put it
to good use. We can get some minor repairs done, tires and the like
thru other sources I am sure.

We are not a tax deductible function sorry to say so a direct donation
would be literally a gift. That said we may be able to have a second
party who is a 501C3 Charity accept it and "loan" it to the club. The
trailer will most likely never leave the base itself. It will be
registered and street legal in order to comply with both Federal and
State laws.

If you have such a beast please consider my request. If you need to
write it off as I said we may be able to arrange that. While doing what
MARA has done (build up a full up commo trailer) is an attractive idea
its not practical for the JBER Clubs needs.

Thanks,
