Next Friday the Anchorage Amateur Radio Club meeting will feature Jim Larsen
AL7FS, the ARRL Alaska Section Manager. Jim is going to be talking about
Alaska Section activities.
Please come by and join us, and as encouragement we are also having some
fine door prizes throughout this year which at times includes handheld
VHF/UHF radios, ARRL 2015 Handbooks, a fine weather station, and more.
With increased daylight hours the propagation changes here in the north, and
we start to think about summer activities including our public service
support. Stay tuned for more on that subject, with information always
available on the club website www.kl7aa.net.
We are investigating this year's Field Day location, and will be soliciting
support and operators in the near future. There has also been updates to the
Anchorage Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) as the club has been doing
traffic testing around the nodes in the area.
There is a plan floating now to present a table at the upcoming home school
fair, if we can find volunteers to man it. There has been interest from the
home school community to learn about amateur radio and how it appears to be
a nice fit for a technology program.
Don't forget to enjoy getting on the air!
