QST Anchorage and surrounding communities:

For the past ten years the KL7AA Field Day setup at Kincaid Park has been
ably coordinated and run by TJ KL7TS and Keith KL7MM. Their efforts have
paid off in record breaking years for contacts and have allowed the club to
show off its emergency capabilities. There have been successful efforts at
the SSB station parked alongside the main road, there has been a CW station
as well as a satellite station set up as well off to the side.

The operation has a set up time, an operating time (24x7) and a tear down
time. The ARRL website has rules posted here:
http://www.arrl.org/field-day

This year the AARC is looking for new volunteers to coordinate this
important event. At this time no one has stepped up to the task. It is a
great opportunity to work with your fellow hams and if you are not already
aware, find out what the club has in its inventory to set up emergency
communications in short notice.

There have already been requests by hams who will be visiting during Field
Day to operate, but at this time I have been unable to tell them if this
event will actually take place.

It is the last weekend in June as always.

Are you interested? If yes, please contact me at activities at kl7aa.net or
via my email above.
