We are seeing some odd behavior on 2m packet to the Valley of late.
I am wondering if someone has set themselves up as a DIGIPeater for
147.96 traffic? Too many hops and the node gets filled with bogus
traffic. Too many cooks in the kitchen if you will.
I would ask that if you playing on packet that you review you
configuration on your TNC and maybe try turning DIGI off. You only need
to have DIGI on if you are allowing others to use your TNC as a
intermediate hop. In case you were not aware by allowing others to pass
thru your TNC you to access the Nodes you are greatly slowed down
because your TNC is really busy.
At the command line of the TNC, "DIGI OFF". At least for a week or so
and maybe we can clean up the extra packets flying around.
For now the KL7AIR-2 Valley digipeater is set to only allow you to reach
VALLEY Node thru it by connecting first to KL7AIR-7 then commanding it
to C Valley (C on the menu). You will not be able to digi thru KL7AIR-2
on 147.96 by commanding C VALLEY V EARS for the time being. Just trying
to iron out what the problem may be.
If you have any ideas why this is suddenly happening I would appreciate
the input. The Digipeaters on Elmendorf have been running for years
without a problem only in the last few months has this issue come up.
